The key to drip irrigation is to prevent clogging.Choosing the right filter is a prerequisite for successful drip irrigation. The commonly used filters are sand and stone separator, medium filter, net filter and laminated filter. The first two are used for primary filtering and the second two are used for secondary filtering. There are a number of specifications for filters, and the choice of which filters and their combinations are mainly determined by water quality.

The micro-drip irrigation system regulates the flow through the irrigator (micro-sprinkler or drip head). The diameter of the channel of the irrigator is very small, which is easily blocked by the physical and chemical impurities in the irrigation water. Therefore, in order to prevent the blockage of the irrigator and waste of investment, proper filters are provided in the micro-drip irrigation system. Before choosing a filter, you should first determine the factors:

Figure out the impurities in the irrigation water. The particle size, physical properties and concentration of impurities can be obtained through water quality test.

Determine the diameter of the channel of the selected sprinkler, and the filter capacity of the filter will be determined with this diameter.

Determine the peak flow rate of the irrigation system, and use this flow rate to select the filter capacity of the filter.

Cost comparison. If a filter is selected, but the cost of automatic control and maintenance management is added to the total cost, after economic comparison, select the appropriate filter system.

The mesh number refers to the filter capacity of the filter, which depends on the diameter of the channel of the irrigator.

Drip irrigation and fertilization only irrigate and fertilize the root system. Therefore, it is important to understand the depth of root distribution of the crops under management. The easy way to do this is to dig through the root layer with a spatula to see how wet it is, so you can tell if there is excessive irrigation.Or place a tension meter in the ground to monitor the depth of irrigation.
